Time flies on preparation days! Here’s some fun updates…

• Our church offers free spanish classes and as missionaries we get to help teach them! 10/10 would recommend, i’ve been able to meet some super funny people there.

• During my time at the Days For Girls warehouse, they have been able to send hundreds of female hygiene + care kits to different Arabic and Spanish speaking countries!

• Working in the temple continues to be a huge blessing. I would probably say serving in the House of the Lord is still my weekly highlight:)

• This week will mark 5 months of me being set apart as a missionary! How cool is that, haha.

 *Quick spiritual thought:

There’s a lot going on in the world right now and a lot going on in our own lives! I love this scripture because it reminds me where I can find peace, hope, and rest-

Matthew 11:

28 Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.

29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.

30 For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.

Feliz Lunes! How was everyone's week??

esta semana:

♡ I have had the opportunity to spend a lot of time in the temple recently! One day, I got to assist a Spanish speaking group through the baptistry (=a section of the temple where we perform baptisms for our ancestors!). I was the only person on the shift that day who spoke Spanish! It was a very cool coincidence. God is in the details!!

♡ Guadelupe brought his whole family to church!! Plus our sweet friend Rosa came too!! It was a wonderful day :)) 

♡ Turns out there's something even better than songs about Jesus... it's songs about Jesus IN SPANISH! Give this song a listen if you'd like! 

God is so good!! Keep praying, He is listening! And remember to be nice to yourself- that's what Jesus would do :) Jesucristo te ama!

¡Hola amigos y familia! ¿Cómo están todos ustedes? I hope this was a good week! Shoot me an email back and let me hear all about it!

Here’s what I’ve been up to:
♡ gave a discurso (speech/talk) in sacrament meeting on sunday !! it was in español ofc and let me tell you, prayer is real because i would not have made it through if God hadn’t heard my prayers for courage lol
♡ went to the temple to do baptisms + brought our friend Guadelupe :) it was his very first time and he loved it !!
♡ had a cute hermana companionship lunch date/scripture study at panera (10/10 would recommend)
♡ saw my awesome pre-mtc tutor at the temple last week !! such a crazy coincidence she was in town and came to the temple when i was working, totally made my dayyy
♡ did a super cool church history tour :)

    ~spiritual thought~
I LOVE being a missionary but there are definitely ups and downs!!
It is easy to say that God has a plan for His children and everything happens for a reason (and it's true), but it’s not always easy to believe that, as I’m sure the majority of us have seen in our lives! Here are three scriptures that have brought comfort to me in the less glamorous seasons of my life:

☆ Ether 12:4,6-  
“Wherefore, whoso believeth in God might with surety hope for a better world, yea, even a place at the right hand of God, which hope cometh of faith, maketh an anchor to the souls of men, which would make them sure and steadfast, always abounding in good works, being led to glorify God
… And now, I, Moroni, would speak somewhat concerning these things; I would show unto the world that faith is things which are hoped for and not seen; wherefore, dispute not because ye see not, for ye receive no witness until after the trial of your faith.”

☆ 1 Nephi 11:17
“And I said unto him: I know that he (GOD) loveth his children; nevertheless, I do not know the meaning of all things.”
 
☆ Psalm 147:3-5
“He healeth the broken in heart, and bindeth up their wounds.
He telleth the number of the stars; he calleth them all by their names.
Great is our Lord, and of great power: his understanding is infinite.”

You got this!! Whether you’re dealing with work, school, finances, friendships, personal or family issues- we’ve all got something going on and whatever it is, GOD CARES! He wants to help! Keep praying, keep trusting, keep reaching out to your Heavenly Father, and keep moving forward! And email me haha :) I hope you are all doing so well + know you’re in my thoughts and prayers!!

Happy New Year🥳 - Kearney, MO MIM

Hola todos! I hope it’s been a good week for y’all :) The beginning of a new year always brings great things!

Here are some updates from my week:

☆ David (the st joe elders friend) got baptized this week!! he’s cute we’re so happy for him :)

☆ we started teaching Roberto he is the sweetest man, he’s never even read the bible and is so excited to learn about Jesus !!

☆ Abram has been sending us on a roller coaster, the kearney sisters found him riding around on a horse and called us since he spoke spanish so we started teaching him and he was sooo hilarious and super interested and progressing but then randomly disappeared and then reappeared after a bit so we’re not quite sure what’s going on with him right now haha! 

☆ we had to drop Fausto because he called us like 7 times during church and then left a bunches message saying “i love youu i miss youuu bésame donde vive i wanna visit you” so yea he’s gone now lol 

• Overall nothing too out of the usual this week! Still driving all over creation to find people to teach but it’s so worth it !! :) 

Spiritual thought:
Helaman 5:12 - “And now, my sons, remember, remember that it is upon the rock of our Redeemer, who is Christ, the Son of God, that ye must build your foundation⁠; that when the devil shall send forth his mighty winds, yea, his shafts in the whirlwind, yea, when all his hail and his mighty storm shall beat upon you, it shall have no power over you to drag you down to the gulf of misery and endless wo, because of the rock upon which ye are built, which is a sure foundation, a foundation whereon if men build they cannot fall.”

Christ is our strong foundation! He is our Redeemer! He loves you so very much!! I know that if we build our lives on our Savior Jesus Christ we will not fall.
