♡♡♡♡♡

Had some much needed extra time to study spanish lol

A recent convert brought his sister to church and she loved it!

Spiritual thought (President Holland edition):
As many of you may have heard already, President Jeffrey R. Holland of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints passed away this week. He was a beacon of hope and inspiration to so many and his teachings will continue to uplift individuals for years to come! I wanted to share with you all some of my favorite quotes from his works.

“Even if you cannot always see that silver lining on your clouds, God can, for He is the very source of the light you seek. He does love you, and He knows your fears. He hears your prayers. He is your Heavenly Father, and surely He matches with His own the tears His children shed.”

“If you are lonely, please know you can find comfort. If you are discouraged, please know you can find hope. If you are poor in spirit, please know you can be strengthened. If you feel you are broken, please know you can be mended.”

“When such difficult moments come to us, I testify that there is one thing which will never, ever fail us. One thing alone will stand the test of all time, of all tribulation, all trouble, and all transgression. One thing only never faileth—and that is the pure love of Christ.”

“Brothers and sisters, one of the great consolations of (the) Easter season is that because Jesus walked such a long, lonely path utterly alone, we do not have to do so.”

“I want it absolutely clear when I stand before the judgment bar of God that I declared to the world, in the most straightforward language I could summon, that the Book of Mormon is true, that it came forth the way Joseph said it came forth and was given to bring happiness and hope to the faithful in the travail of the latter days.”

“Please remember tomorrow, and all the days after that, that the Lord blesses those who want to improve, who accept the need for commandments and try to keep them, who cherish Christlike virtues and strive to the best of their ability to acquire them. If you stumble in that pursuit, so does everyone; the Savior is there to help you keep going.”

 “Hope on. Journey on.”

“Heaven is cheering you on today, tomorrow, and forever.”

If you liked any of these quotes, here is a link to all his speeches! I invite you to read one!

♡♡♡♡♡
Overall it was a bit slow but a great week!! I can’t wait to see what miracles happen next week! Email me anytime, it’s so good to hear from you all!!
with love,
Hermana Adams :)

TWO DAYS TIL CHRISTMAS - - Kearney, MO MIM

Hello!! I hope you all had a great week :) Here’s what I’ve been up to:
☆☆☆☆☆

Temple trip
Our friends Francisco and Gabriel got to go to the temple for the first time!! They are the sweetest brothers ever. They have had the strongest desire to go to the temple for a while, but their work schedule has been difficult to work around as they get up pretty early and return home really late. We were able to get a hold of the temple presidency, and we got the temple baptistry to open up earlier than normal for our friends to go!! They had a BLAST! It made me so happy to see them experience the joy of serving our ancestors and loved ones in the temple :) The temple is the best. And the coolest part for them was getting to do everything in Spanish, the language of their heart and home!

Wendy’s baptism
Sweet Wendy got baptized!! This was such a beautiful day. On her journey towards baptism she was able to overcome a very long battle with a nicotine addiction and grew so much as a person and a daughter of God! So proud of her :)  It has grown my faith to see how when we choose to take the first step of faith in Jesus Christ even when it seems like we’ll never be able to climb the mountains in our life, He helps us up the rest of the way- just like He did with Wendy! I got to sing the hymn Dearest Children God is Near You with my fave Sister Park during the service. Her awesome comp Sister Malo played the bass. I felt so honored to be there for Wendy on this special day!

Guadelupe’s baptism
So quick side note, we found out that his name is actually Jose. Guadelupe is his middle name lol but anyways his baptism was incredible! His cute wife as well as his sister and two of his sons were able to be at his baptism! It was so great to see that family come together and support him. Families are such an important part of Gods plan, and I am so grateful for the knowledge that families can be eternal! The Spirit was so strong during Guadelupe's baptism. He totally cried haha hes the best! (I cried too lol) We got to facetime call my old companions (Hnas. Nacey and Fultz) that had been teaching him and had them watch the service with us so that was really special! God is in the details.

Ward Christmas party

The Alta Vista ward knows how to party thats for sure!! We had christmas music playing SOO loud (and all in english which was funny because most people couldnt understand it but the person in charge of music was a native spanish speaker too so Im not sure why he chose that, and at one point it switched off the christmas station to some current pop station but none of our member friends realized that it wasn't christmas music so we had to go tell the guy in charge lol. Lets just say it wasnt super family church party friendly for a second there haha!) It was super fun to talk to all the ward members and get to know them better, plus we had a lot of our friends and the St. Joseph elders friends show up!!

New companions

I love Hermana Palenske and Hermana Petersen!! Theyre actually the funniest people to ever be companions and when all three of us are together its always an adventure haha! Ill attach a picIm basically the luckiest Hermana ever, Ive been blessed to serve with some amazing missionaries! Shout out Hermana Fultz and Hermana Nacey, theyre off spreading the love and hope of the gospel of Jesus Christ in new areas now! I totally miss them but I am SO PROUD of them. I know God has a plan for His missionaries, and for all of His Children!!

Zone conference

ZOCO was so epic per usual, it was all Christmas themed/focused this transfer and that just made it even better lol. I LOVE Christmas and even more, I love my Savior Jesus Christ, the true reason for the season!! I sang Silent Night with Sister Park and Sister Malo played the bass again, plus cutie Sister Hansen accompanied us on the piano! I sang my verse in spanish and I was so nervous haha but God listens and answers our prayers so I was able to make it through the whole performance without passing out from nerves haha! We heard some great messages about missionary work and about our Savior. I got to see my bestie friend Sister Purcell! We sang Christmas songs, and learned about how we can be better disciples of Jesus Christ. Also we got to make gingerbread houses lol so overall a great conference!!

Spiritual thought!!

This email is already really long so Ill make this short haha! This week is CHRISTMAS!! This is your official invitation to remember the reason we celebrate this wonderful holiday. Jesus Christ was born for you and for me! He came to provide peace and healing to a hurting world. He died on the cross and then rose again, and by doing so, He overcame death and sin. Because of Jesus Christ, there is always hope! Jesus lives! He loves you!

I hope you all have a Merry Christmas!! :)

All my love,

Hermana Adams🎕

God is good! - - Kearney, MO MIM

Happy Monday everyone!! I hope you all had a wonderful week! Can you believe there’s only 10 more days until Christmas?! SO exciting, this really is the best time of the year!
☆☆☆☆☆☆

~Weekly Update~
Lots of stuff happened this week but I have a bad memory and a short amount of time to write haha! Overall it was a great week and I’m learning a lot every day!
This week three of our friends will be getting baptized!! It has been a long journey for each of them, but it has been incredible to see how God has always been working in their lives, long before they even realized He was there!
One day this week the Hermanas and I made A BUNCH of cookies and brought them around to friends and members throughout our whole area, it was super fun!
So we got transfer news this week and the Hermanas are getting whitewashed/doubled out! This means that they will both be leaving to go to a new area and two different missionaries will come to Cameron/Alta Vista. A lot of the time only one of the current missionaries will leave so this was kind of a surprise to us all, but every transfer is a surprise so it’s okay haha!
Later this week we’ll find out more specific details about transfers so I’ll update y’all in my next email :)

~Spiritual Thought~
Matthew 6:33-34 “But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.” This verse teaches us that putting God before all other things in our life actually allows us to receive all of the other blessings that He has for us! This can be hard at times when we have to make difficult sacrifices or push forward through fear and doubt but if we look to Christ, everything is possible.
Remember the story of Moses and the children of Egypt, and all the other examples we have in the Bible and the Book of Mormon of how God has always delivered His children from trials when they place their trust in Him! If we continue to look to our Heavenly Father and rely on the love + mercy of our Savior Jesus Christ EVEN DURING THE HARD TIMES, I know we will absolutely be blessed for our faith and receive blessings of peace, strength, hope, protection, courage, and joy greater than we can imagine!
During the time the hermanas and I spend driving in the car, we often listen to talks (sermons) about the gospel of Jesus Christ or uplifting music! Here are two songs that I really loved this week! I encourage you to listen to one or both, I know they will uplift you and help you remember God, our Heavenly Father and his son Jesus Christ who are loving and have a plan for YOU specifically!
How can you try a little harder to put God first in your life this week??

☆☆☆☆☆☆
That’s all for this week! I love you all :) Email me anytime with any questions or updates!!
All my love,
Hermana Adams🎕

HOLA DE NUEVO - Kearney, MO MIM

MI AMIGOS Y MI FAMILIA !!

♡♡♡♡♡♡

I hope you are all doing so well !! How was your week ?? Mine was so fun and crazy per usual lol !! I'm going to apologize in advance for the horrible spelling and grammar and lack of punctuation in this email, I don’t have a ton of time this week but I wanted to share as much as I can haha !!
♡♡♡♡♡♡

   Awesome updates
𑽇 We got to attend a baptism this week !! it was for one of the friends of the elders that live in st joseph, his name is Raymundo and he is the most precious man he was so incredibly excited to make his first covenant with God and the Spirit was so strong at his baptism !!
𑽇 I got the opportunity to sing with a group of other missionaries and we sang Raymundo’s favorite hymn, Getsemani, and he totally cried haha ahh he’s the best !!
𑽇 Okayyy i know ive talked about this a lot haha but the members in this ward are such incredible chefs
𑽇 Best mexican food ive had in my entire lifeee lol i literally get so excited when we have an opportunity to share a meal with our member friends and i am so so grateful for their willingness to invite us into their homes !!
𑽇 The best times are when we get to introduce our friends from the community to our friends at church and then all get together for a meal and watch them become friends :))
𑽇 The first sunday of every month at our church we get the opportunity to have a special testimony meeting where instead of hearing assigned speaker give specific talks/sermons, our sacrament meeting time is open to all the ward members to come forward and share their testimony of Jesus Christ !! we have two awesome friends Fransico and Gabriel, they’re brothers and were recently baptized and they were able to share their testimonies for the first time and it was so powerful !!!
𑽇 I love the Alta Vista Ward so much !!!! they’re literally all divas haha
𑽇 Tomorrow we get to go to the temple with a group of missionaires, im lucky because i get to spend lots of time working in the temple but this is an opportunity to go as a patron which is even better, plus anytime with my hermanas is a blessing so i’m hyped !! :))

  Silly moments

𑽇 Last preparation day we ended up sitting on the couch of a small hair salon for almost 4 hours which was really random but we had lots of fun chatting with little old men that were waiting for their wives lol
𑽇 Guyssss our friend guadelupe is just going through it right now he’s got the craziest family situation, we’re doing our best to teach and support him but prayers for Guadelupe would be so appreciated !!!
𑽇 This whole week felt kind of random but there were so many miracles when i took a second to look closer..
𑽇 For example one day we drove almost 5 hours throughout the course of the day which can get old after a bit haha BUT every single time we stopped, we made a new friend and got to start teaching them about the gospel and Jesus Christ and the joy our Savior can bring into their life so it ended up being a great day !!!
𑽇 One day i was in english land (that’s what the spanish speaking missionaries in my area call it when they spend time with english speaking missionaries haha) and we met a man who only spoke spanish so i got to speak with him for a while and translate for the other sisters !! it was so good for me to see that the Lord truly is aware and helping me because i was able to communicate better than i have before, i didn’t have the hermana there to back me up but i totally understood him and he was so cool and interested in learning more about church but then at the end of our super great conversation about God, he started asking if i was married and if i wanted to be his girlfriend he was also an adult man soooo we passed him off the elders to see if he wants to keep learning more about Jesus with them instead !! lol crazy times but it was cool to see my hard work with language study paying off :))

♡♡♡♡♡♡
Those are just some of the highlights from the week !! If you ever have questions about what I'm talking about in my emails or if you want to hear more about what I’m up to, please shoot me an email anytime !! I love to hear from you all !!
♡♡♡♡♡♡

Spiritual thought

“Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness" - Isaiah 41:10

There are many challenges in this life and reasons that we may be fearful but there is good news = We are not in this alone !!

God hears and answers our prayers !! It may not always be as soon as we want or in the way we expect but I promise, He is aware of you and He knows your deepest desires, your joys and your fears !! He is a loving Father and wants to bless each one of us !! The greatest gift He has given us because of His love is His son Jesus Christ :) Who is Jesus Christ to you??

I invite you to read this chapter to look for what it teaches you about Jesus Christ !! --> 3 Nephi 11 I know that the more you learn about our Savior the more you will be able to feel His power in your life:)

Well that’s all from me :)) Have the best week !! Sending love and prayers to you all,

Hermana Adams

Hola Hola - Kearney, MO MIM

Hi everyone !!

☆☆☆☆☆
I hope you all had an AWESOME Thanksgiving !! What a great opportunity to spend some time with family and friends, and to give thanks to God as we count all of our blessings!

This week absolutely fried my brain haha! Learning another language is no joke but it's super rewarding when things start clicking! I think I'm slowlyyy starting to understand native Spanish speakers a bit better lol. Anyways let's get to weekly updates woohooo
☆☆☆☆☆

~ Cool stuff ~
Made even more friends this week haha :)
Guadalupe (our friend from last week who is on date) is doing great!! He is SO smart and learns super fast!
I probably say this every week but working in the temple is the besttttt
Our friend Antonio is on date for baptism as well! Super cool story and we're really proud of him.
Thanksgiving was so much fun !! We ate goodddd haha. I'll attach some pics from that day :)
We had a friend on date for baptism on a certain date that was still a while away but during our most recent visit he wanted to move it even sooner !! Everyone get hyped for Dave, he's the best!
I got to see all my friends from the zone on thanksgiving PLUS some of my family !!!
Like I just said - I got to spend time with my family woohooo it's good for the soul haha

~ Slightly less cool stuff ~
○ Hermana Nacey, Hermana Fultz, and I totally just stuck in the mud anyways we're fine now of course but their car is a bit dirty lolll
○ The same day as the mud incident every lesson fell through and no one would answer calls so we had to get creative in our missionary efforts haha
○ We knocked doors on a super creepy old apartment building
○ My team of missionaries totally lost the Thanksgiving turkey bowl lol there's always next year !!
○ Anddd we drove like a hundred more hours!

~ Spiritual thought ~
AKA the best part of weekly emails haha !!
I want to talk about scriptures! I loveeee reading the scriptures. Both the Book of Mormon and the Bible bring so much power into my life and help me learn so much about our loving Heavenly Father, and his son Jesus Christ!! I KNOW that the scriptures are the word of God, and I know that reading scriptures brings so much peace into our crazy lives! So I wanted to challenge you all to open that dusty book and start reading!! One chapter a day is great, or if a few verses is all you've got the time to read then that's awesome!! Reading God's word can CHANGE YOUR LIFE! I know that as a fact!

If you don't know where to start you can check out this chapter from the Book of Mormon - Moroni 7
...and here's one verse from it to get you excited haha:
vs 33- "And Christ hath said: If ye will have faith in me ye shall have power to do whatsoever thing is expedient in me."
The chapter talks a lot about faith, hope, and the guidance of the Spirit!! I promise you will be uplifted and learn something new if you read it!
