WOOHOO - Kearney, MO MIM

Hola amigos !! Okay, this week was a blast !! Let's get into it...

 ~the good stuff~

♡ OUR FRIEND GUADELUPE IS ON DATE FOR BAPTISM YAYYY!!
♡ went to a member friend’s birthday party :)
♡ I'm a temple worker now !! it’s THE BEST
♡ discovered my addiction to K-LOVE music lolll
♡ sweet old man called me a Proverbs 31 woman :p

The Alta Vista ward members are INCREDIBLE, literally the sweetest people and they feed us sooo well !!
♡ had the most scrumptious flautas for dinner
♡ got delish tamales from another amiga
♡ one member owns a cafe and gave us free lunch !! best onion rings i've ever had guys i’m so blessed out here lollll
♡ saturday night we went to a wedding reception i LOVE weddings
♡ Hermana Fultz and Hermana Nacey = literal angels. I cannot express the amount of love I have for them !! They teach me so much every single day and we have so much fun together !!!
♡ listened to unanswered prayers by garth brooks in the car about one trillion times (it's Hermana Nacey’s favorite song lol)

 ~silly times~

♡ we are in the car for about one hundred hours a day. Jk more like 3 hours but still that's a lot of driving every day in my opinion lol
♡ spend a lot of time in the Walmart parking lot :/
♡ made a rule - solo espanol en el carro - and we all have an individual castigo (punishment) if we speak english lol. I have to do the next 3 prayers or contacts all in Spanish, Hermana Fultz has to drive, and Hermana Nacey has to listen to veggietales haha. Safe to say we are all getting a lot better at not speaking english in the car lol!!!

 ~spiritual thought~
♡ This week I heard the song “What A Friend We Have in Jesus” for the first time in a while! I wanted to share a couple lines from it-

"Can we find a friend so faithful
who will all our sorrows share?
Jesus knows our every weakness;
take it to the Lord in prayer!"

It reminded me of Alma 7:11-12 which says, “And he shall go forth, suffering pains and afflictions and temptations of every kind; and this that the word might be fulfilled which saith he will take upon him the pains and the sicknesses of his people.”

“And he will take upon him death, that he may loose the bands of death which bind his people; and he will take upon him their infirmities, that his bowels may be filled with mercy, according to the flesh, that he may know according to the flesh how to succor his people according to their infirmities.”

This was such a good reminder to me that my Savior knows me individually! And he knows all of you individually! Like the song said, I invite you to bring any sorrow or weakness you are struggling with to the Lord this week! Prayer is SO powerful and I promise you will feel the love of your Savior as you turn to Him!!

HOLA TODOSSS !! :) - Kearney, MO MIM

HOLA AMIGOS !! So so sorry for not sending out an email last week, time absolutely fliessss on p-days !! 

   This week has just flown by but it has been full of SO MANY blessings! 
Yesterday I attended my first Zone Conference !! GUYS I LOVE ZOCO It was super fun getting to know other missionaries in my zone, and getting instruction/inspiration from the Mission Leaders and other young missionaries in leadership! 
 
Update: I’m not in the MTC anymore! My new current assignment is in the Missouri Independence Mission! This is pretty new to me as well haha, I’ll have more to share next week! 
I LOVE the missionaries here in the MIM, especially the hermanas- it’s hard to show up feeling brand new and out of place in a new area, and some of my new missionary friends have been literal answers to prayers just reaching out, including me, and helping make sure I’m up to speed on all the zone info!! 
I love being a missionary!!
 
A huge theme for ZOCO was “Growing Through Challenges”. We discussed a General Conference talk given by Henry B. Eyring. It is titled “Proved and Strengthened in Christ”, and here’s a little chunk I love from it:
“The greatest example of proving and strengthening occurred through the Savior’s Atonement. He took upon Him the sins of the world. He bore our pains and our sorrows. He drank the bitter cup. He proved faithful in every moment.
Because of His glorious Atonement, Jesus Christ can strengthen us in our times of trial. He knows how to succor us because He has felt all the challenges that we will ever feel in mortality. “He will take upon him the pains and the sicknesses of his people … that he may know according to the flesh how to succor his people according to their infirmities.’ “ 
 
I know this is true! Even when you feel misunderstood or entirely alone, our Savior UNDERSTANDS YOU and STAYS WITH YOU no matter what! And yall should definitely read the rest of the talk !!

I'm Still Here - Provo MTC

   ☆ UPDATE ☆
I hope everyone had a fun safe Halloween !! Halloween at the MTC isnt a huge event but random missionaires would walk around campus and hand out candy so that was fun :) Lmk how your halloween went !! I'm so excited its November now ITS PUMPKIN SEASON WOOHOO !! 
 
  □ MISSIONARY WORK □
-I am still loving the MTC !! My district is hilarioussss we've gotten super tight and they really keep me going during long tiring classes and tough moments !! 
-We are district 8-F but theres a district that meets in a classroom right by us, District 6-G and they are some of the FUNNIEST, NICEST people over !! Shoutout OGs. They had a bit of a spooky halloween week lol... Also shoutout Districts 9-C and 3-K for being literally the coolest missionaries.
-Good friends are such a blessing and being surrounded by awesome people is definitely one of the ways I am able to feel God's love in my life !! AND I wanna hear from all of you, send any life updates or whatever you'd like ! Today is the day I'm gonna finally respond to all my emails haha :)
 
     ♤ SPANISH ♤
Guyssss my brain is absolutely cooked haha so we have 6 hours of class per day which is all in Spanish plus personal studies and man I LOVE the work but I always feel like I'm scrambling or always falling just a step behind ! My comp Hermana Olsen is SO SMART especially with learning Spanish and she has been super helpful, one fun learning activity we do is choosing a random scripture from either the Bible or the Book of Mormon to read in spanish and then try to dissect and translate it to english !! It helps my brain really make connections plus I LOVE the scriptures so its a win - win !! Buttttt I still have really long way to go haha please send prayers lol.
  
    ~FUN STUFF~
♡ Every tuesday night we have a devotional (like a talk or sermon) and yesterday we got the awesome privilege to hear from Elder David A Bednar, who is a member of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles !! It was so cool to be in the presence of someone who has truly dedicated his heart and life to serving + testifying of Christ, I felt the Spirit so strongly as he spoke !!
 
♡ I also got to sing in the choir for that devotional, 10/10 would recommend :)
 
♡ The MTC is an extroverts dreammm !! I have made SO MANY FRIENDS HERE I swear I know almost every spanish speaking missionary in the MTC right now haha probably not but it feels like that !! PLUS tons more amigos, some who came here from canada and from south america, and others from the states going out to albania or france !! SUPER COOL! They're all my friends whether or not they wanna be I just say hiii and start asking questions then boom instant friendship !! lol :)
 
♡ And this is not so fun buttt Im tryna choose to have a good attitude haha,, some of you have heard of the infamous MTC cafeteria food, it is SUCH a blessing to be fed meals every single day but the meals are mmm maybe not so delish let's just say,, I am so grateful for my awesome mom hooking me up with a ton of yummy snacks !! Family is the best haha I'm super glad to know that mine has always got my back :)
 
◇ SPIRITUAL THOUGHT ◇
    Okay yall sorry this is a tad long and maybe all over the place but I'll grab up with this fire scripture !! This is the prophet Moroni writing for his brethren the things he wants them to know about Jesus Christ and his gospel and I love this verse in Moroni 7:22-
    "Behold, God knowing all things, being from everlasting to everlasting, behold, he sent angels to minister unto the children of men, to make manifest concerning the coming of Christ; and in Christ there should come every good thing." 
    Guys we all know this but life comes with so many challenges. In my life I have had times where I felt lost, overwhelmed, or uncertain about my future. This is exactly why I am so grateful for Jesus Christ !! 
    The atonement of Jesus Christ brings so much HOPE. There is always, always hope because of him !! I know God is real and that He sent His son Jesus Christ for you and for me because He loves us! He is our Heavenly Father and He WILL send angels to minister to us during the trials of life !! 
    We can be angels for each other (and the coolest thing is is blesses us too!!) I invite you all to reach out and do something kind for another person this week, something you don't/wouldn't usually do. EVERYONE is going through something and you never know how far a little love can go :)
